ZEG Tbilisi Storytelling Festival / European Press Prize Award Ceremony 2023

When: June 8-10 for the festival, June 9 for the award ceremony

Where: Tbilisi, Georgia

In early June the capital of Georgia will host the ZEG Tbilisi Storytelling Festival, an international event organised by Coda Story and Impact Hub Tbilisi.

The festival will have a journalism track, and the highlight of the program will be the annual award ceremony for the European Press Prize, one of the most prestigious awards for European journalism.

Overcoming divisions: DW Global Media Forum 2023

When: June 19-20, 2023

Where: Bonn, Germany; online

How can journalism help us in overcoming societal divisions? This is the question the attendees will examine during the 16th edition of DW’s international media conference, which will take place in June both offline and online.

The conference will include sessions on innovative revenue models, social media and protest movements, and the rise of exile journalism.

World News Media Congress 2023

When: June 28-30

Where: Taipei, Taiwan

Since 1948, the World News Media Congress has been an important annual gathering of news media leaders. This year’s edition will take place in Taipei in late June, aiming to gather over 800 participants, most of them senior media industry professionals, from across the world.

The program will feature dedicated tracks for media leaders and for editors, as well as a solutions track. The Women in News Summit will take place alongside the main congress.

The Global Investigative Journalism Conference 2023 (GIJC23)

When: July 17-21

Where: Gothenburg, Sweden

The Global Investigative Journalism Conference is the world’s largest international gathering of investigative journalists, held biannually over the past two decades.

Organised by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) along with local partners, it expects to gather around 2,000 people for panels, workshops and networking events around the topics of investigative reporting and data journalism, among others.

The 2023 Online News Association Conference (ONA 2023)

When: August 23-26

Where: Philadelphia, United States

The Online News Association (ONA) is a nonprofit membership organisation for digital journalists based in the United States. It will hold its annual in-person conference in Philadelphia in late August.

In addition, the ONA will organise a virtual event on September 28-29, which will be open to in-person conference participants; passes for the online conference can also be purchased separately.
