2020 was in many ways a revolutionary year for the media sector. Faced with unprecedented challenges, media moved faster than in a long time to deliver real innovation. Our upcoming conference, Media Revolutions, will take a look at the exciting changes in the media/ business/ tech space.
The event will be held across 10-evenings from February 22 to March 3. Each evening will be devoted to a specific theme, combining presentations, case studies, lighting pitches, and panel discussions for media leaders from across Europe.
Digital events can be a drag. While nobody has quite figured a perfect alternative to warmth and serendipity that characterize great in-person events (perhaps, there will never be one), we have done our best to make things lively and engaging even in the cold vacuum of Zoom.
Each session will last between 1 and 1.5 hours – 20:00 – 21:30 EET // 19:00 – 20:30 CET // 18:00 – 19:30 GMT – to keep things crisp, punchy, and to the point.
We want to uncover solutions for media from the perspective of new innovative business models, tech, and marketing. Additionally, the distinctive focus of the event will be devoted to covering the media’s fight against authoritarianism in Europe – and to make sure we include the sometimes overlooked but innovative corner of our continent as “Emerging Europe”.
There are a lot of innovative media projects and business solutions in Emerging Europe – some of them have been here for a while and others appeared as a response to the ongoing struggle brought by COVID-19. However, it’s not only about improving one’s business – sometimes development and innovative growth is a matter of survival.
Media in the region often experience attacks on media freedom, they are bullied by experienced authoritarians who are trying to undermine their independence. How can media respond by using innovative approaches in distribution, tech, and business? We want to talk about that.
The idea of Media Revolutions is to, first tell the media community about these great innovative cases and share the experience of success and failure accompanying each project.
The broader goal is even bolder. In line with The Fix’s mission, we want to build a stronger community of European media managers, researchers and development professionals from all parts of the continent – providing them with a platform for discussion and networking (yes, we will do some online networking).
Please join the conference from February 22 to March 3.
